Beta Tester Guide
Thanks for testing Feltprint. It records your live poker hands in the minute between hands, then an AI coach reviews each hand and your whole session. This beta is about one question: can you record a real hand at the table quickly, and is the review worth reading?
Getting started
- Install TestFlight from the App Store, then open the invite link and install Feltprint. Feltprint needs iOS 18 or later; on an older iOS the build doesn't show up in TestFlight.
- Sign in with Apple or Google. Pick one and keep using it: signing in the other way creates a second, empty account.
- Allow notifications. You get a push when a hand's review is ready.
Feltprint is iPhone-first. The app follows your iPhone's language: English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. Settings → Review language picks the language the AI reviews are written in, and Settings → Card colors switches between a four-color and a two-color deck.
Four tabs run along the bottom: Home (your recent form, the session in progress and your recurring mistakes), Sessions, Hands (every hand across sessions, with filters) and Settings.
Recording a hand
A hand takes two pages: the table, then the action. Aim for under a minute.
- Start a session. On a new account, tap Start your first session on Home; after that, use + at the top of the Sessions tab. Game type (Cash or Tournament) and table size are required, and a cash game also needs its blinds (at least SB and BB). Name and Venue are optional. For a tournament, picking the venue's Event fills in the buy-in and lets you pick the blind level as it goes up.
- Mark your seat. A new session opens on its table. Tap your chair. Feltprint asks once per session; if you change tables, use ⋯ → Moved table.
- New hand (the + at the top right of the session) opens the table page:
- Dealer first. Tap + Dealer on the button's seat. To move it later, tap the D, then the new seat.
- Tap a seat to open its panel: Add hand for cards, Add stack for chips (the pad has K, M and BB keys). Your cards and stack are required. Add an opponent's stack when you know it; otherwise the review assumes they cover you.
- Blinds and antes are the chip at the top of the table, not part of the action line. In cash, tap the stakes chip (like 2/3/5) to change the session's blinds; in a tournament, tap the level chip to pick the level, or ⏮ / ⏭ to step. A one-off straddle in cash: Add straddle on that seat.
- Tap the board on the felt to add the flop, turn and river, and Add hand on an opponent's seat for cards you saw at showdown.
- Tap Add actions and note and type what happened with the poker keyboard. Each key types a whole word; Flop, Turn and River start a new line:
UTG raise 2400 SB call Flop UTG bet 2500 SB call Turn check check River SB bet 3000 UTG fold
- Write positions (UTG+1 is +1). The app knows which seat is yours (hero also works). The strip above the keys shows each seat's cards and stack; tap a column to change that seat.
- Amounts are the total bet: “raise 2400” means raise to 2,400. K and M mean thousand and million (raise 2.4K), and bb right after a number is in big blinds (bet 2.5bb).
- Checks need no positions: check check is each player in turn.
- Players doing the same thing can share one word: HJ BB call, UTG HJ fold.
- ABC switches to the normal keyboard for anything the poker keyboard can't type, and Poker switches back.
- Switch to the Note tab for a read on a player or what you were unsure about. It opens on the normal keyboard, so dictation is one tap away.
- Tap Save. The page closes right away and Feltprint reads your line in the background. If something required is missing, Save stays grey and the page lists what. Back in the session's hand list, a hand can come back with:
- Needs a fix: part of your line couldn't be read. Tap the hand, then the line, and fix it.
- 1 question: Feltprint had to guess, for example who won the showdown or whether an all-in player had more chips than you. Tap the hand, check it, answer, and Save.
Reviews
- Hand review. Every saved hand gets an AI review. You'll get an “AI Review ready” notification; tap it or open the hand. The review marks each of your decisions and explains the biggest one. Tap a decision to Agree or Disagree, or ask about it.
- Ask about this hand. The strip at the bottom of a hand opens a chat about it. If the answer shows the review got something wrong, a Correct the review card offers to re-analyse just those streets.
- Session Review. When you're done playing, tap End session on the Session Review card at the top of the session's hands (or the pencil → Session settings → End session). With at least 3 reviewed hands, Feltprint writes one review of the whole session: your recurring leaks and what to work on. If some hands still need a fix or an answer, it asks before ending.
- Seat notes. On a session's Table tab, tap a seat to note how that player plays. Give them a name if you like; the seat shows it, and the note goes into the hands you record against that seat.
- Players. Settings → Data → Players keeps notes on opponents you've tagged at your table.
- Share a hand. The share button on a hand makes one long image of it, or Copy link for a link anyone can open.
The AI can be wrong, especially in close or multiway spots. When it is, that's the most useful thing you can tell us.
Feedback we want
Record real hands from real sessions; that tells us more than test hands. The most useful reports:
- A review that's wrong. Which hand, which decision, and what you think the right play is.
- Where recording got stuck. Anything that made a hand take more than a minute, or a hand Feltprint read wrong.
- Anything that broke: a crash, an error, a hand that wouldn't save.
Two ways to send it:
- Settings → Report a problem (or Send feedback on the Home card) opens a form in the app. Pick Bug, Awkward to use or Suggestion, say what happened, and attach a screenshot if it helps. Your app version, iOS version and device model are sent with it. If sending fails, Email instead writes to support@feltprint.com.
- Screenshot in the app, then tap Share Beta Feedback in TestFlight's prompt. The screenshot reaches us with your build and device.
Known limitations
- English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese only for now.
- One sign-in method per person. Apple and Google make two separate accounts that don't share hands.
- Reviews need a connection. You can record and save hands offline; they send, and get reviewed, when you're back online. Starting a session also needs a connection.
- AI reviews are coaching, not a solver. Treat them as a second opinion, and flag the ones you disagree with.
- iPhone first. The app runs on iPad but hasn't been tuned for it.
Your data
- Your hands, notes and player notes are stored on Feltprint's servers so you can see them on any device you sign in on.
- Hands are sent to AI model providers to write the reviews. No ads, no tracking, no data sold.
- Settings → Delete account deletes your account and everything in it, right away.
